Graeme Andrews considers Philippians ch 7 vs 17 onwards. In his introduction he mentions that conventionally it is perceived that there 4 case studies of humility in this chapter.
He dismantles this notion by saying that the chapter starts with the Lord Jesus Christ who is not just an example of humility but the very personication of humility. He then elaborates on the apostle Paul, his son in the faith – Timothy and his fellow soldier Epaphroditus.
The Christian life is one that involves self-abasement, selflessness and self sacrifice.
