Sermons by Jack Hay

Gospel Tent ’24: Faith and “God so loved the world”. (46 mins)

Jack opens the meeting by talking about people in the bible who are characterised by faith- Noah (he believed a warning), Abraham (he obeyed a call) and Sarah (she accepted a promise). Faith in the Lord Jesus is the only way to be saved. Gene preaches on John 3:16. This verse highlights God’s inconceivable love for the world and contrasts this with the inconsolable loss in losing salvation. In John 3:16, we are told that God loved “the world”- this…

Gospel Tent ’24: The Lord Jesus- friend of sinners.

Gene preaches about how the Lord Jesus came as friend of sinners. How he came into this world to save sinners, how everyone who is not saved are in need of salvation. Gene opens up by pointing out that there is only one way to God. We can know the way to heaven through God’s word. Jack continues to remind us that we are all rebellious to God and that we cannot keep the ten commandments. The only solution to problem with our sins and the only way we can be righteous in the sight of God is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

Gospel Tent ’24: What makes a person a Christian and “Ye must be born again”.

Jack asks the question “what makes a person a Christian?”. There must be a conversion, a turning point- a precise moment when one turns from their sins and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. Gene focuses on the importance of being born again- with our first birth we came into the world as sinners but we must be born again through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to have eternal life.

Gospel Tent ’24: Things that are important and the Lord Jesus Christ, who “his own self” bare our sins on the cross at Calvary. (48 mins)

Jack starts the meeting by talking about three things that are important to remember: remember “thy Creator”, God; remember his laws (10 commandments) which we can’t keep therefore makes us aware of our sinfulness. Lastly, we must remember His love for us in sending His Son to die on the cross for our sins. Gene continues to preach on 1 Peter 2:24- a profound bible verse that presents us with a powerful truth, that the Lord Jesus Christ “his own…

Gospel Tent ’24: “What must I do to be saved?” and “Now is the day of salvation”.

Gene reads from the book of Acts and points us to the most important question: “what must I do to be saved?” He goes on and pin points the answer which can be found in Acts 16: “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved”. Gene also points out that every religion requires something for us to do but we’re missing the point- only believe on the Lord Jesus Christ by faith. Jack continues by saying that…

Gospel Tent ’24: Believing God and having personal peace with God through the Lord Jesus Christ. (48 mins)

Jack reads from the book of Jonah and points us to what made God spare the people of Nineveh despite their sins- they repented and believed on God. Jack continues by asking the audience the key question- “are you willing to believe on God and repent?” Gene preaches on the theme of ‘peace’ from Romans 5:1 – personal peace with God and how to obtain this through the Lord Jesus Christ and His death on the cross. If we trust…

Gospel Tent ’24: “How the Lord saved me” (50 mins)

In this recording of our Gospel Tent series, Gene Higgins and Jack Hay tell the audience of how they Lord saved them. Gospel Tent ’24: “The prodigal and the proud” (47 mins)

Our speakers gave challenging sermons on the condition of the human heart. They both examined parables, told by the Lord, which feature a comparison of two individuals. Gene told us about a certain man who had two sons. One son rebelled and wasted his life with riotous living – but he repented and returned and was received! The other son, though he stayed at home, was proud of himself, and held resentment towards his father for receiving his rebellious brother.…

Gospel Tent ’24: “The Lord has become my salvation” and “The benefits of believing” (47 mins)

In the third session of Gospel meetings, Gene Higgins asks the important question – has there been a time in your life when the Lord Jesus became your salvation? No one drifts or wings their way into Heaven! The Lord Jesus can become your salvation by trusting Him and His finished work. Jack continues on the significance of believing, giving particular focus on the many benefits of believing on the Lord Jesus for salvation. We can have peace with God,…

Gospel Tent ’24: “We preach Christ crucified” and “Christ died for our sins” (47 mins)

Jack helpfully preaches the core of the gospel message – Christ crucified. Having suffered the punishment for our sins on the cross, Jesus Christ can save us from our sins. Have you been saved from your sins? Have you trusted Jesus Christ for salvation? Gene preaches what the apostle Paul preached first of all, that Christ died for our sins and rose again. He also expands on what Paul saw last of all, knew best of all, and enjoyed most…
