John Grant was born in Glasgow, Scotland into a Christian family. At eighteen years of age he was received into assembly fellowship in Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire. In 1991 he left secular employment to engage “full time” in the preaching of the gospel and the teaching of the Word of God, and laboured throughout the United Kingdom, North America, and the Far East. He was the editor of the Believer’s Magazine from 1999 for 17 years, and was the author of “Living for God,” Exodus in the “What the Bible Teaches” series and the John Ritchie “Family Series”. John Grant went to be with his Saviour on the 23rd January 2020.
Under his editorship of the Believers’ Magazine, the ‘centrefold’ of the periodical contained an illustrative chart on a bible book, topic or theme. Here you can download a PDF containing all 96 Charts that appeared in the Believers Magazine from 1999 until 2015, which contain a gold-mine of outlines for one’s own personal Bible Study.
The Assembly at Bicester enjoyed Mr Grant’s visits to the assembly and surrounding area over many years, appreciating his challenging and powerful (and often humorous!) ministry at various conferences and weeks of Bible Teaching over the years, but also his godly and warm character.
