Jack opens the meeting by talking about people in the bible who are characterised by faith- Noah (he believed a warning), Abraham (he obeyed a call) and Sarah (she accepted a promise). Gene preaches about how the Lord Jesus came as friend of sinners. How he came into this world to save sinners, how everyone who is not saved are in need of salvation. Jack continues to preach about how the Lord Jesus still continues to receive sinners and points out that His sinlessness qualified to die for our sins on the cross at Calvary.

Jack preaches on the need of a conversion experience in the life of a person- this must involve “repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ”. Gene solemnly preaches on the day of judgement, when there won’t be a space to hide for the unsaved sinner. However, there is no reason why a person should miss heaven because Christ has died to save all.

Gene opens up by pointing out that there is only one way to God. We can know the way to heaven through God’s word. Jack continues to remind us that we are all rebellious to God and that we cannot keep the ten commandments. The only solution to problem with our sins and the only way we can be righteous in the sight of God is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jack asks the question “what makes a person a Christian?”. There must be a conversion, a turning point- a precise moment when one turns from their sins and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. Gene focuses on the importance of being born again- with our first birth we came into the world as sinners but we must be born again through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to have eternal life.

Gene mentions referring to the book of Mark about- “what will profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world” if they miss heaven? Gene points out that if you miss Christ, you’ll regret forever. Jack continues by mentioning that we are guilty in the sight of God and that we require His forgiveness – only God can forgive our sins.

Jack starts the meeting by talking about three things that are important to remember: remember “thy Creator”, God; remember his laws (10 commandments) which we can’t keep therefore makes us aware of our sinfulness. Lastly, we must remember His love for us in sending His Son to die on the cross for our sins. Gene reads from the book of Acts and points us to the most important question: “what must I do to be saved?” He goes on and pin points the answer which can be found in Acts 16: “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved”. Jack reads from the book of Jonah and points us to what made God spare the people of Nineveh despite their sins- they repented and believed on God. Jack continues by asking the audience the key question- “are you willing to believe on God and repent?” Gene preaches on the theme of ‘peace’ from Romans 5:1 – personal peace with God and how to obtain this through the Lord Jesus Christ and His death on the cross. In this evening’s Gospel meeting Jack encourages sinners to depend on the Lord Jesus by calling upon the name of the Lord for salvation. Gene challenged the audience on what the most important thing is- that we must be saved. Sinners can be saved from their sins by repenting and trusting on the Lord Jesus.
